Literary Market Place – LMP is a basic tool used by agents, writers, and publishers. This is a huge and well-maintained database, and it is pricy to use: $399 for a year’s access. But LMP has recently offered a week’s access for $25. LMP makes some of its data available without a fee.

Writer’s Digest –gives much useful information about marketing along with hype to buy Writer’s Digest products. Many fiction writers find the list of the top fiction markets to be quite useful.

Publishing Trends & Research LibrariesLiterary Magazines on the Web. This site is an impressive list of ezines. Some on this list, such as Amarillo Bay, publish high-quality literature and have gained for their authors the attention of literary agents.

Preditors and Editors™ says it is "a guide to publishers and publishing services for serious writers." This site has much useful information about seeking an agent, including warnings: "If an agent has a bad reputation, you'll probably find the dirt here."

Agent Query claims to be "the internet's largest and most current database of literary agents." This site also has links to pages of useful information about finding agents.
